What is the Eligibility Criteria for ECBA and PMP?

Are you a professional engaged in business analysis or project management? ECBA and PMP are some of the best certifications available for your profession and you must be gearing up for your certification exams. But before you get your certifications, here are a few things you must know.
ECBA (Entry Certificate in Business Analysis) is offered by the IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysis) and is a certification course for beginners. This certification is for professionals who are either starting out or are looking to make a career for themselves in the field of business analytics. Being offered by a world-renowned organization, the ECBA exam holds a lot of weight and can really add credibility to your name.

PMP (Project Management Professional) is offered by the PMI (Project Management Institute) and is a certification course for industry veterans who have been engaged in the profession for a few years. PMP is offered by the globally acknowledged PMI and is a world-class certification for project managers which distinguish the elite from the rest.

Check Your Eligibility for ECBA
To get ECBA certified, you must first, clear the ECBA exam. Here are the details with regards to eligibility criteria for ECBA.

  • You must be a registered member of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA)
  • You must have completed the mandatory 21 professional development hours within the past 4 years.
Check Your Eligibility for PMP

To get PMP certified, you are required to clear the PMP exam. Check the following certification eligibility criteria before you start your PMP exam prep.

  • You have either a bachelor’s degree or a high school diploma (or an equivalent secondary school degree)

  • If you have a bachelor’s degree, you should have at least 4500 hours of experience as a project manager along with 3 years of work experience.

  • If you have a high school diploma, you should have at least 7500 hours of experience as a project manager along with 5 years of work experience.

  • You must have completed the 35-hour study program on PMBoK.
